Medical Education is an integral part of Barnsley NHS FT, The Medical Education department works to ensure that Students, residents and Medical Staff are supported in delivering safe and efficient patient care through quality placements adapted to meet their specific learning outcomes and career requirements
 
The department is responsible for developing, managing and delivering a range of high quality and cost effective medical educational services within the Trust to specifications required by the General Medical Council, NHSE Yorkshire and Humber, Sheffield Medical School and the Trust’s Strategic and Operational Framework.
 
Medical Education has a key role in ensuring the Trust achieves the highest clinical standards. High quality Medical Education supports patient safety, service delivery and the maintenance of up-to-date clinical practice.

 
The team encompasses Undergraduate and Postgraduate admin and clinical support, Simulation, Clinical skills and Library and resource centre
 
The team are situated in the Education centre on the main trust site and are available Monday to Friday 8am-5pm for any queries regarding placements, portfolios or training opportunities …. Or even just for a chat and a cuppa!
