Drew is a Consultant in Emergency Medicine and Simulation lead for Barnsley Hospital. He has been involved with developing and delivering a wide range of simulation sessions. He has a particular interest in human factors and optimising how we debrief in simulation. Dr James Turnbull

James is a Consultant Anaesthetist at Barnsley Hospital with a strong commitment to sustainable medical practices and the advancement of medical education.
As the College Tutor for Anaesthesia and Lead for Undergraduate Simulation, he plays a key role in integrating simulation-based learning into the training of students and healthcare professionals. Passionate about creating a safe and supportive learning environment, he combines clinical education with human factors training to enhance the overall educational experience.
James advocates for the use of a range of simulation modalities, from low to high fidelity, to provide immersive and effective training. Supported by Barnsley Hospital’s investment in medical education, exceptional staff, and state-of-the-art equipment, he delivers high-quality simulation programs that prepare learners for real-world clinical challenges.

As part of the Simulation Team, Paul supports the setup, operation, and maintenance of simulation equipment and technology used for training, education, and research. He helps ensure realistic learning environments by managing manikins, AV systems, and related software.
